Warren Riles, Director
Warren Riles has worked in Career Services for the past twelve years. He began work at Georgia Southern as the Cooperative Education Coordinator and now serves as Director. He provides overall leadership to Georgia Southern on all matters pertaining to Career Services. Warren is also a retired Colonel from the U.S. Air Force and worked for 10 years as Program Manager for NASA. He received his MBA from Georgia Southern, Masters in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee Space Institute, and his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tuskegee Institute. Amy Rowell, Assistant Director
Career Advisor: College of Education
Amy Rowell is starting her ninth year at Georgia Southern and began as the Career Resource Specialist before becoming Assistant Director. Her main responsibilities include assisting students with major decisions, résumé writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies, and graduate school planning. Amy received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Science Education and her Master of Arts in Student Personnel Services from Northwestern State University. Dorsey Baldwin, Assistant Director, Employment
Career Advisor: College of Science & Technology
Dorsey Baldwin, Assistant Director of Employment, is responsible for oversight of the experiential education programs (internships, co-op’s, and job shadowing) and all aspects of employment relations. Joining Career Services in summer 2005 as the Recruitment Coordinator, she is a former College Director of the Georgia Association of Colleges & Employers (GACE), an organization in which she is actively involved in. She is also an active member of the Statesboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Originally from Gary, Indiana, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana and her Master of Science degree from Georgia Southern University. Karen Townsend Murphree, Career Resource Specialist

Karen Townsend Murphree began working at Georgia Southern in 2001 and serves as the Career Resource Specialist. She has worked in Student Affairs for twelve years. Karen assists students with making major/career decisions, résumé writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies and planning for graduate/ professional school. Rachael A. Barrett, Career Services Specialist, COBA

Rachael Barrett is the liaison to the College of Business Administration. She has over 19 years of experience in the areas of student employment, human resources and career services. She assists business students with making major/career decisions, résumé writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies and planning for graduate/professional school. She has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. Mary's Dominican College and a Master of Education, Concentration in Higher Education Administration from the University of New Orleans. Stephanie Saunders, Career Advisor

Stephanie Saunders is a Career Advisor, Adjunct Faculty, and Career Doctor for the College of Information Technology. She also works with students in making career decisions, resume writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies, and planning for graduate/professional school. Originally from Danville, Virginia, Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech and received her Master of Science in Counselor Education with a concentration in Student Affairs from Radford University. Heather Scarboro, Recruitment Coordinator

Heather Scarboro joined the Georgia Southern Career Services team in the fall of 2008 as the Recruitment Coordinator. She oversees the on-campus recruitment activities including career fairs, on-campus interviews, and job postings. Originally from Claxton, Georgia, Heather earned both her Bachelor of Art in English and Master of Education in Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University. Connie Franklin is our Georgia Southern expert and mom. She has worked at Georgia Southern for the past 18 years in both the Office of Admissions and Career Services. Tiatiannia Garrett, Graduate Assistant
My name is Tiatiannia Garrett and I am currently enrolled in the Master of Public Health program here at Georgia Southern, with a concentration in Epidemology. Thank God I am graduating in May 2010! I am Dorsey Baldwin’s Graduate Assistant and primarily work with students on Experiential Education, which basically helps students gain relevant experience in their field.
Brian Middleton, Graduate Assistant
Brian Middleton is currently a Graduate Assistant for the office of Career Services. Originally from Summerville, South Carolina, Brian moved to Kingsland, Georgia in 1996. Except for the gnats, he has been enjoying his second "hometown" ever since. He received his Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting with an emphasis in information from Georgia Southern University in December of 2006. Throughout his undergraduate career, Brian has strived to take opportunities to pursue various leadership positions which include being a member of Southern Ambassadors, having his own show with Georgia Southern's radio station, working with Eagle News Network, and holding many executive board positions in different student organizations. Brian is pursuing a Masters in Business Administration in hopes that it will continue his efforts for complete worldwide domination. He also tries to approach everything in life by the words in Philippians 4:12 and 13. Brian has held the distinct honor of being a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. since the spring of 2006. Katie Smith, Graduate Assistant
Katie Smith began work in Career Services in Fall 2009 as a graduate assistant. She assist with advising students in the College of Information Technology. She also provides assistance with resume critiques, mock interviews and career advisement. Katie previously served as a Graduate Assistant in the Teaching and Learning Department. She is a Founder and Secretary for the College Student Personnel Association (CSPA). She received her Bachelor of General Studies with concentrations in Business, Public Relations and Sociology. She will graduate in May 2010 with a Masters in Education, Higher Education Administration.
Brenda Respress, Graduate Assistant
Brenda Bridges Respress is new this year to Career Services, but not to Georgia Southern. She has been a soaring eagle since 2003. As an undergraduate student at Georgia Southern, Brenda was a SOAR leader, Eagle Entertainment Team Leader, Choreographer for On Pointe dance team, a member of Eagle News Network, WVGS 91.9 the buzz and participated in various other student organizations. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting in May of 2007, she worked for WRBL-TV in Columbus, Georgia as a Marketing Writer and Producer. She has now returned to Georgia Southern to get her Masters in Public Administration. As a graduate assistant for Career Services, Brenda serves as a liaison for the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. She also lends a hand to students and alumni by: critiquing resumes, assisting with major/career decision making, conducting mock interviews, and assists in graduate school preparation.
